Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD is assisting a specialist infrastructure and engineering contractor to recruit a Site Engineer for their growing team in Scotland. You will contribute to delivering refurbishment and infrastructure projects, ensuring works align with design specifications and programme targets.

You will work with Site Managers and subcontractors, performing setting out, surveying and drawing interpretation while maintaining accurate records and upholding health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer in civil engineering, infrastructure or refurbishment.
• Competence in setting out, surveying and interpreting technical drawings.
• Understanding of construction methodologies, quality assurance procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking setting out and surveying duties to ensure works comply with drawings and specs.
• Interpreting drawings, technical information and project specifications, resolving discrepancies.
• Monitoring site activities to ensure safety, accuracy and quality against requirements.
• Coordinating with Site Managers, subcontractors and project team to maintain progress.
• Maintaining accurate site records including inspection/test plans and daily reports.
• Supporting health and safety procedures and ensuring compliance with legislation.

We are working with a specialist infrastructure and engineering contractor to assist them in hiring a Site Engineer for their growing team in Scotland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of site works, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately and in line with design specifications and programme requirements. Working closely with site management, project teams and subcontractors, you will contribute to the successful delivery of challenging projects while developing your experience within a specialist contracting environment. As the Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Undertaking setting out and surveying duties to ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, technical information and project specifications, resolving discrepancies and raising technical queries where required.
• Monitoring site activities to ensure works are completed safely, accurately and in line with quality standards and project requirements.
• Coordinating with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure construction activities progress efficiently and to programme.
• Maintaining accurate site records, including inspection and test plans, quality assurance documentation, as-built information and daily reports.
• Supporting site health and safety procedures, identifying potential risks and ensuring work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation and project requirements.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a Site Engineer role within civil engineering, infrastructure, structural refurbishment or a related construction environment.
• Competence in setting out, surveying and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• A good understanding of construction methodologies, quality assurance procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside site teams and subcontractors.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
