Job summary

S1jobs is seeking a Setting Out Engineer for long-term civil engineering projects in the Glasgow area. You will join a well-established contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and groundwork works and will play a key role across multiple live sites.

The role offers long-term security into 2027 with a steady pipeline of civils, infrastructure, foundations and earthworks packages across Greater Glasgow. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civils or groundworks projects.
• Experience using modern surveying equipment (Trimble, Leica or similar).
• Ability to work independently while liaising closely with site teams.

Setting Out Engineer | Long-Term Civil Engineering Projects | Glasgow Area

Looking for your next contract with genuine longevity? We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and groundwork projects across the Greater Glasgow area. Due to a growing workload, they're looking to appoint a Setting Out Engineer who can join the team immediately and play a key role across multiple live sites. This is an opportunity to secure long-term work, expected to run into 2027, with a steady pipeline of projects ranging from traditional groundworks and infrastructure packages through to more technically challenging civil engineering schemes.

You’ll Be Involved In a Mix Of Works Including

• Roads and infrastructure
• Drainage and utilities
• Foundations and earthworks
• Reinforced concrete elements
• Retaining structures
• Specialist foundation packages

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civils or groundworks projects
• Confident using modern surveying equipment (Trimble, Leica or similar)
• Ability to work independently while liaising closely with site teams
• Strong understanding of QA, as-builts and site documentation
• Available to start within the next few weeks
