Job summary

Abatec is recruiting a freelance Site Engineer for a major civil engineering project in Plymouth, Devon. The role demands experience in setting out civil schemes and operating robotic total stations, with a focus on accuracy in drawings and quantities.

The candidate will ensure health and safety compliance on site, assist with as-built drawings, and hold CSCS with readiness for SC clearance. Degree in civil engineering is desirable.

Job description

Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Site Engineer to join one of Southwest's biggest Civil Engineering projects. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth, Devon.

The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar position on major projects.

As Site Engineer you will:

• Have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in setting out on civil engineering schemes.
• Use a robotic total station to provide levelling and survey the site
• Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
• Assist in the preparation of 'as-built drawings'
• Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

• Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels).
• Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations.
• Due to the nature of the scheme the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance.
• A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks, and RC works.
• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable.

Salary/Benefits:

• £350 - £420 per day PAYE Umbrella
