Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Site Engineer for a major steel frame warehouse project in Basingstoke. This long-term freelance role involves setting out, surveying, QA, and coordinating with the project team to meet programme requirements.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers and subcontractors, ensuring drawings and specs are followed, managing as-built records, and maintaining HSE standards on site.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on industrial/logistics/warehouse projects
• Experience with steel frame construction
• Proficient with surveying equipment including GPS and Total Station
• Experience managing QA documentation and as-built records
• CSCS Card required
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to drive project delivery

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all setting out duties across the warehouse development
• Managing QA processes and maintaining accurate site records
• Producing and completing as-built surveys and site documentation
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Coordinating subcontractors and resolving technical issues on site
• Conducting site inspections and assisting with quality control procedures
• Supporting the management team with programme and progress tracking
• Maintaining health & safety standards across all engineering activities

Site Engineer

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Site Engineer to join a leading contractor on a major steel frame industrial warehouse project in Basingstoke. This Site Engineer role offers a long-term freelance contract, providing the opportunity to work on a large-scale industrial development and play a key role in the successful delivery of the project.

About the Role of Site Engineer

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the construction team throughout the delivery of a steel frame warehouse scheme. Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers, and subcontractors, you will ensure all setting out, surveying, and engineering duties are completed accurately and in line with programme requirements.

This role is ideal for an engineer with experience on industrial, logistics, distribution, or steel frame construction projects who is looking to work on a significant development with a well-established contractor.
