Job description

Come and join the team as a Site Engineer on an exciting project based at Aylesbury. You will be tasked with preparing the construction site and providing measurement data crucial for controlling all aspects of the onsite construction work.

To thrive in this role, you must showcase robust analytical and mathematical skills, maintain a keen eye for detail, and possess outstanding communication abilities. Additionally, you should have extensive experience in performing complex measurements, analyzing data, and meticulously documenting results for a range of intricate projects. Moreover, proficiency in using current and relevant software essential for your daily tasks is imperative for the senior surveyor.

Day Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, models and reports.
  • Verifying data and calculations.
  • Recording results of surveys.
  • Calculating the measurements of sites.
  • Ensure the construction site is ready for commencement, including working with detailed site plans and models.
  • Setting out, levelling and surveying a construction site.
  • Working with site plans, drawings and construction information models.
  • Mapping works on the ground using relevant markers.
  • Liaising with designers, site team and engineers to ensure accurate onsite plans and drawings.
  • Overseeing quality control of subcontractors' surveying works.
  • Monitoring health and safety onsite.
  • Resolving technical problems.
  • Working in an office and on a construction site.
Requirements
  • A solid foundation in numeracy skills, along with a strong capability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficient logical thinking skills that enable you to approach problems systematically and make sound decisions based on available information.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, allowing you to identify issues, develop strategic solutions, and assess their effectiveness.
  • A meticulous eye for detail, ensuring that all aspects of tasks are reviewed and completed to the highest standards.
  • Robust organisational skills, facilitating the effective management of time and resources to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A sharp memory that aids in recalling essential information and processes, reducing the likelihood of errors.
  • A thorough knowledge of construction principles and practices, providing a strong contextual background for the job responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for collaborating with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • The ability to accurately interpret detailed plans and specifications, ensuring that projects are executed according to established guidelines and standards.
