Site Engineer

Location: Aylesbury

About FC Civils Solutions:

This project is delivered by our newly established affiliate, FC Civils Solutions Ltd, which undertakes subcontracting work on major UK infrastructure schemes. The Edgcote viaduct will span 515 meters, supporting railway infrastructure across the River Cherwell floodplain, supported by 20 pairs of concrete piers and largely concealed by local hedgerows and woodland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicating effectively with all project stakeholders, including site management, technical specialists, and clients.
  • Monitoring safety initiatives and ensuring environmental standards are maintained.
  • Driving quality through effective planning and first-time-right delivery.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff and technicians.
  • Monitoring progress against the project schedule and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Verifying that drawings and specifications are complete and clear before work begins.
  • Requesting missing information proactively to adhere to timelines.
  • Ensuring works are correctly set out and recorded, including verbal instructions.
  • Implementing Inspection and Test Plans and maintaining daily records.
  • Assisting in preparing and monitoring 'look ahead' programmes and risk assessments.
  • Ensuring safety and environmental assessments are in place and followed.
  • Recording and addressing non-conformances and maintaining quality records.
  • Contributing to project financial forecasts and resource management.
  • Providing accurate setting out and coordinating formal checks.
  • Managing material deliveries, sampling, and testing as per specifications.
  • Maintaining comprehensive resource and resource usage records.
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Proven experience in setting-out structures and civil engineering/construction projects.
  • Prior civil engineering experience is essential.
