We're working with a major infrastructure contractor delivering a programme of civil engineering projects across the South West. Due to an increase in project workload, they're seeking an experienced Civil Site Engineers to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure schemes across the Somerset/Wiltshire. This role would suit a Site Engineer with experience in utilities, infrastructure or water sector projects who enjoys being on-site and taking ownership of the technical delivery of works.
The Role
As a Civils Site Engineer, you'll provide day-to-day engineering support across a range of civil engineering projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out works and providing accurate line and level control
- Ensuring construction activities are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Supporting Site Managers and Project Managers with the planning and coordination of works
- Monitoring quality compliance and maintaining site quality records
- Promoting and enforcing a strong health and safety culture on site
- Assisting with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
- Coordinating subcontractors and supporting effective project delivery
- Producing and maintaining survey records, site documentation and quality assurance paperwork
- Capturing and managing as-built information
- Raising and managing RFIs and resolving design queries with engineering teams
- Supporting successful project delivery through effective communication and technical problem-solving
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out and surveying experience
- Experience working on pipelines, structures and associated civils works
- CSCS Card
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
Desirable Experience
- Water or wastewater sector experience
- Temporary Works Supervisor qualification
- First Aid at Work certification
- Working at Height training
- Manual Handling training
- Experience using AutoCAD, GPS and total station equipment
