Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to join the Grid & Digital Solutions team for the EGL1 Project in Torness, Scotland. You will supervise electrical works, monitor installations, and coordinate subcontractors to ensure safe, on-schedule delivery.

The role demands a degree/diploma in electrical engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong English communication and a focus on HSE compliance on site.

Qualifications

• University Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical construction projects within power generation, transmission, industrial, or energy sectors.
• Experience supervising electrical installation subcontractors on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report writing.
• Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the execution of electrical works on site per project specs and standards.
• Monitor installation of electrical equipment, cable systems, earthing, and related infra.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors for safe, efficient site execution.
• Maintain records of progress, completed and ongoing activities.
• Report technical issues, construction challenges, and risks; support timely resolutions.
• Ensure availability of materials, equipment and resources for site activities.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Monitor schedule adherence and escalate potential delays to site management.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements throughout electrical construction.
