Job summary

Abbott is seeking a senior EHS leader for a complex manufacturing and R&D site in the UK. You will shape and deliver the EHS strategy, partner with site leadership, and embed EHS into operations to drive safe, compliant growth.

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will mentor a team of about 9 and advance a proactive safety culture across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Support Functions, while supporting major investments.

Qualifications

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional health and safety qualification.
Significant EHS leadership experience in manufacturing/regulated industries.
Experience leading and developing professional teams.
Strong understanding of UK environmental, health and safety legislation.
Proven experience managing compliance programmes, regulatory inspections and audits.
Strong risk management, incident investigation and governance experience.
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience supporting operational excellence, capital projects and business transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver the site's EHS strategy aligned with priorities.
Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders on EHS risks and requirements.
Integrate EHS into operational plans, growth initiatives and strategic decisions.
Lead and develop the site EHS organisation and build capability.
Provide leadership and oversight for major capital projects and site changes.
Ensure compliance with UK legislation, environmental permits and standards.
Lead regulatory inspections, audits and continuous improvement actions.
Monitor and report EHS performance metrics to leadership.
