Job summary

pxFairport, part of pxGroup, is recruiting for a Construction Manager to join our Sunderland office. You will oversee site deliverables, mobilise teams, and ensure equipment availability aligns with client expectations and KPI targets.

You will lead site safety, documentation, and procurement activities, while coordinating with the Project Manager and client teams. You’ll receive on-the-job training, mentoring and twice-yearly development reviews to enhance your performance and contributions

Qualifications

• HND/Degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Site Management qualification (CSCS Black or equiv.).
• Site Management Safey Training Scheme (SMSTS).
• EMSS Safety Passport qualification.
• NEEBOSH qualification.
• Slinger/Signaller/Banksmen qualification.
• Experience with risk assessments, method statements and lift plans.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Management and direction of site-based teams including Site Managers.
• Management and direction of contractors.
• Create, manage and monitor site documentation (Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Lift Plans).
• Manage HS files and CDM requirements.
• Advise on duration and logic of site activities for robust schedules.
• Review contractor proposals for alignment with scope.
• Procure equipment and spares to keep sites running.
• Provide status reports to Project Manager and advise on progress and risks.
• Facilitate client meetings and report progress against schedule.
• Review reports from site representatives and take appropriate actions.
• Resolve quality issues on live sites and warranties.
• Understand contract terms and align site activities accordingly.
• Develop relationships with client personnel and assess needs.
• Drive process improvements for future site works.
