Job summary

WR Logistics is recruiting a Site Chemist in Cheshire to join a busy hazardous waste site. You will be responsible for the safe and compliant management of various chemical waste streams, using chemistry knowledge to identify, classify and control wastes and ensure correct labelling, storage and handling.

The role requires a minimum HNC in Chemistry or a related qualification, good understanding of chemical hazards, strong attention to detail and effective teamwork.

Site Chemist

Location: Cheshire

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Site Chemist to join a growing team in Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chemistry professional with a minimum HNC in Chemistry who is looking to develop their career within the hazardous waste sector.

The Role

Working on a busy site, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant management of a variety of hazardous and chemical waste streams. Your Chemistry knowledge will be used to identify, assess, classify and manage waste, ensuring materials are handled, stored and processed safely.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and classifying incoming hazardous waste
• Identifying and managing different chemical waste streams
• Ensuring waste is correctly labelled, segregated and stored
• Carrying out chemical analysis and testing where required

About You

• Minimum HNC in Chemistry or a related qualification
• Good understanding of chemical hazards and safe chemical handling
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and develop
• Previous experience in hazardous waste, chemical waste, laboratory or industrial environments is desirable but not essential
