Job summary

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a global renewable energy and resource recovery business in the appointment of a permanent Project Manager, site based on a major EPC project in the Bristol Area. The role leads a multidisciplinary team across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, working closely with the Site Manager, Engineering Manager and Health and Safety Manager.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years' experience managing EPC or heavy industrial infrastructure projects,

Qualifications

• At least 10 years' experience managing EPC or heavy industrial infrastructure projects.
• Proven record of taking projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Strong construction management experience, including managing subcontractors and construction contracts.
• Sound knowledge of NEC4, JCT or FIDIC contract administration, commercial management and project controls.
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK construction health, safety and environmental requirements.
• A degree, HNC or HND in civil, mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering, construction management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience on wastewater, biogas, anaerobic digestion or renewable energy projects, and APM, PRINCE2, PMP, SMSTS or NEBOSH, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading the project from contract award through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Developing and maintaining the project execution plan, programme, budget, forecasts and resource plans.
• Administering the contract under NEC4, JCT or FIDIC, and managing change, variations and cost control to protect margin.
• Managing subcontractor and vendor performance, and coordinating construction activities with the Site Manager.
• Maintaining the risk register, and the Primavera P6 programme with the Project Scheduler and Controller.
• Reporting progress, cost, programme and risk to the client and senior leadership, and chairing project review meetings.
• Making sure the project meets its CDM 2015 duties, QA and QC plans and environmental permits.
