Altera Recruitment Group Ltd is supporting a global renewable energy and resource recovery business by appointing a permanent Engineering Manager for a large anaerobic digestion EPC project in the Bristol area. This senior role is the engineering authority on the project within the UK Project Execution team, leading an engineering group that includes Resident, Process and Offsite engineers.

Qualifications

• 15+ years engineering experience in EPC, industrial, energy or renewable energy sectors.
• At least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Experience delivering large EPC projects valued at £50m+.
• Thorough knowledge of CDM 2015, British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Desirable: CEng/IMechE/ICE/IET/IChemE and NEC4 or FIDIC experience; anaerobic digestion or wastewater exposure.

Responsabilités

• Lead all engineering on the project from concept design through commissioning and handover.
• Direct civil, structural, mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation and controls with consultants.
• Set execution plan, design programme, resource plan and budget; manage engineering budget.
• Review calculations, specs, drawings; lead design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies.
• Write technical specifications and requisitions for long lead equipment; evaluate bids.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and approve design changes and site instructions.
• Champion Design for Safety and CDM 2015 compliance.

Engineering Manager

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a global renewable energy and resource recovery business in the appointment of a permanent Engineering Manager, site based on a large scale anaerobic digestion EPC project in the Bristol Area.

The Engineering Manager is the senior engineering role on the project and its primary engineering authority, within the UK Project Execution team. The role leads the project engineering team, including the Resident Engineer, the Process Engineers and the Offsite Engineer, and is the key interface between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, the client and the regulators.

The role would suit a senior Engineering Manager from EPC, process plant, water, wastewater, waste to energy or renewable energy, with a track record of leading multidisciplinary teams on projects worth more than £50m.

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager

• Leading all engineering on the project, from concept design through commissioning and handover.
• Directing the civil, structural, mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation and controls disciplines, together with specialist consultants.
• Setting the engineering execution plan, design programme, resource plan and document control, and managing the engineering budget.
• Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, drawings and design packages, and leading design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies.
• Writing technical specifications and requisitions for long lead equipment, and evaluating vendor bids and submittals.
• Resolving technical issues on site, and approving design changes, technical queries and site instructions.
• Championing Design for Safety and compliance with CDM 2015, DSEAR and the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical or process engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years' engineering experience in EPC, industrial, energy, water, waste to energy, process plant or renewable energy, including 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Experience delivering large scale EPC projects valued at more than £50m.
• Experience of design management, technical assurance and process plant design, and of leading multidisciplinary teams and consultants.
• Thorough knowledge of CDM 2015, British Standards, Eurocodes and UK permitting, planning and environmental frameworks.
• Experience of technical bid evaluation, vendor management, budgets, contract administration and change management.
• CEng status, membership of IMechE, ICE, IET or IChemE, NEC4 or FIDIC experience and anaerobic digestion or wastewater experience would be advantageous.

• Salary of £75,000 to £95,000 per annum.
• Car allowance of £400 per month.
