Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Project Manager to lead major projects across the Midlands, South West and South Wales. The initial assignment covers restoration work at the Newport Transporter Bridge with blasting and painting contracts for a few months.

The role suits someone on the road with experience in civil/structural repair and a track record in delivering complex projects safely, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or HND is required.
• Experience in concrete and steel repair.
• Exposure to blasting and painting contracts is desirable.
• Proven project management abilities and strong organisational skills.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for safe, compliant and successful project delivery.
• Set project strategy, plans, programmes and delivery standards.
• Own programme, cost, quality and HSE performance.
• Set delivery strategy and manage risks, change and recovery.
• Lead site teams and supply chain to right-first-time delivery.
• Control budgets, resources and commercial outcomes.
• Manage client, stakeholder and internal reporting.
• Ensure technical, design and temporary works compliance.
• Drive company values, team development and positive culture.
