Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks a Project Manager to cover secured projects across Midlands, Southwest & South Wales, with initial restoration work at Newport Transporter Bridge on a blasting and painting contract.

The role requires on-site leadership, risk and change management, and a track record in concrete/steel repair with CDM knowledge. Road-based, with comprehensive rewards and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification (example Degree in civil engineering or HND).
• Experience within concrete and steel repair.
• Some exposure on blasting and painting contracts.
• Proven technical and project management abilities.
• Strong organisational and management skills.
• Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations.
• Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work.
• Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment.

Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for safe, compliant and successful project delivery
• Set project strategy, plans, programmes and delivery standards
• Own programme, cost, quality and HSE performance
• Set delivery strategy and manage risks, change and recovery
• Lead site teams and supply chain to right first time delivery
• Control budgets, resources and commercial outcomes
• Manage client, stakeholder and internal reporting
• Ensure technical, design and temporary works compliance
• Drive company values, team development and positive culture
