Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a Sandbach, Cheshire site to recruit a Production Planner / Scheduler for a 24/7 chemical manufacturing operation. You will own production planning and scheduling, covering daily, short- and long-term needs, while coordinating with manufacturing and procurement teams.

This site-based, stand-alone role requires independent work, strong organisation, and the ability to identify and mitigate capacity and material constraints before they impact

Qualifications

• A degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Science, Materials or a related discipline; Chemistry degree or equivalent is particularly relevant.
• Previous experience in planning or scheduling.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, agrochemicals or other process-industry environments is advantageous.
• Experience using SAP is desirable; familiarity with other ERP systems considered.
• Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling and material requirements.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence to work independently and take responsibility for planning activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, procurement and wider teams.
• Proactive approach to identifying issues, managing constraints and finding practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily production plan and act as the primary planning contact.
• Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-term production schedules.
• Create, sequence and smooth process orders to maximise capacity and minimise downtime.
• Communicate schedules to manufacturing teams and monitor performance against plan.
• Ensure feasibility of schedules considering capacity, materials and operations.
• Identify and escalate capacity or material constraints that could affect production.
• Communicate orders that cannot be accommodated within the plan.
• Monitor schedule adherence and take action when plans are at risk.
• Attend routine site meetings and collaborate with manufacturing and related teams.
• Involve in logistics and wider supply chain matters as needed.
• Support rolling three-month and longer-term production planning horizons.
• Assist with SKU amendments and master data queries.
