Job summary

FR Scott is a Hull-based supplier of fixings, fasteners, architectural ironmongery, tools and industrial consumables, seeking an organised Procurement Coordinator to manage day-to-day purchasing, stock availability and supplier coordination. You will support sourcing, commercial analysis and projects to improve how we buy and manage supply across the business, while working with the Head of Procurement.

The role offers development toward Buyer or Category Manager as you grow, including potential

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, buying or supply chain preferred.
• Organised, detail-focused with strong communication.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis.
• Interest in products, pricing, stock and supplier performance.
• Willing to take ownership and cover wider team.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing and replenishment, maintaining purchase orders, supplier acknowledgements, costs and delivery dates.
• Follow up outstanding orders and resolve shortages, delivery discrepancies and invoice queries with Sales, Warehouse and Finance.
• Support supplier sourcing and negotiations by obtaining and comparing quotations, benchmarking prices and identifying cost/quality opportunities.
• Analyse sales, stock, margin and supplier spend to support buying decisions and range reviews.
• Support inventory and supplier performance reviews, addressing slow-moving stock and availability issues.
• Maintain product and supplier information, pricing and technical documentation; support new products and range development.
• Contribute to supplier onboarding, purchasing controls and procurement process improvements.
