Carrington West is recruiting for an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to support delivery of a major clean water infrastructure project in Hampshire. The role covers the Winchester to Southampton corridor, focusing on safe, quality delivery and programme compliance.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site activities, supervise Supervisors and subcontractors, and coordinate resources to ensure on-time completion in a busy water environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous Site Agent/Manager experience in the UK water/utilities sector.
  • Strong clean water pipeline installation experience.
  • Experience delivering large-diameter pipeline works.
  • Good understanding of excavation, pipe installation and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of pipeline and civil works.
  • Supervise site teams, Supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources.
  • Monitor progress against programme and address delays.
  • Coordinate Temporary Works requirements and RAMS.

Job description

Site Agent / Site Manager - Water Infrastructure

Location: Southampton / Winchester Area

Contract Type: Long-Term Contract

Payment: Umbrella PAYE - Dependend on Experience.

Carrington West is recruiting for an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to support the delivery of a major clean water infrastructure project in Hampshire. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a significant clean water pipeline scheme between Winchester and Southampton, involving the installation of a pipeline.

This is a long-term contract opportunity, paid via Umbrella PAYE, offering continuity of work on a major water infrastructure programme.

The Role

As Site Agent / Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in line with programme. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of pipeline and associated civil engineering works
  • Managing Supervisors, site teams and subcontractors
  • Planning and coordinating labour, plant, materials and resources
  • Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays
  • Managing and coordinating Temporary Works requirements
  • Reviewing and implementing RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Coordinating subcontractors and operational activities across the site
  • Using project management systems including 4Projects and FieldView
  • Liaising with the client, project management team and other stakeholders
  • Identifying changes in site conditions and making informed decisions to maintain safe and efficient delivery
  • Supporting short-term planning and programme management
Essential Requirements
  • Previous Site Agent, Site Manager or similar management experience within the UK water or utilities sector
  • Strong clean water pipeline installation experience
  • Experience delivering large-diameter pipeline works
  • Good understanding of excavation, pipe installation, testing and associated civil engineering works
  • Experience managing Supervisors, subcontractors and operational site teams
  • Strong understanding of Temporary Works
  • Strong understanding of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • SMSTS, CSCS Card ,EUSR Clean Water Card
Desirable Requirements
  • Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor within the water sector
  • Experience delivering major clean water infrastructure programmes
  • Previous experience managing long linear pipeline projects

The successful candidate will be a confident and proactive Site Agent / Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of site delivery. You will need to be able to manage multiple work fronts, coordinate teams and subcontractors, make informed decisions on site and maintain programme delivery without compromising safety or quality.

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills will be important, along with the ability to work collaboratively with both operational teams and senior project management.
