Job summary

Talent Link in Hatfield, Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Site Agent to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

You will lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen to deliver work safely, to the specified quality, and with effective programme management. The role requires CDM knowledge and strong leadership in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Must have proven site delivery experience in civil engineering within regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control.
• CSCS card and health & safety training; IOSH/SMSTS and Temporary Works Coordinator desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of civil and water sector projects.
• Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen to deliver work safely and to the required quality.
• Produce and manage construction programmes, 2-week look-aheads, and procurement schedules.
• Ensure RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans are produced and implemented.
• Maximise commercial performance, identify value engineering opportunities and maintain commercial tension.
• Produce accurate monthly reports for clients and internal use, and chair site meetings.
• Represent the business to customers, the public, and official bodies; maintain site diaries and records.

Job description

An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Site Agent to join their team in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities for Site Agent:

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across the Civils and Water sectors
• Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen to deliver work safely, without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality
• Produce and manage construction programmes, 2-week look-aheads, and procurement schedules
• Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans
• Maximise commercial performance, identify value engineering opportunities, and maintain commercial tension
• Produce accurate monthly reports internally and for the client, and chair weekly site meetings
• Represent the business in an ambassadorial capacity to customers, the public, and official bodies
• Ensure detailed site diaries and records are completed throughout

Essential Requirements for Site Agent:

• Proven experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering, delivering projects in a highly regulated environment
• Working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control
• Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to civil engineering
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• CSCS card, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, and Confined Space training
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills

Desirable:

• CEng MICE or equivalent
• Knowledge of Primavera P6
• Understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract
