Job summary

VolkerStevin is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our energy business and deliver major National Grid transmission and substation projects across the UK. You will lead on-site delivery, coordinating engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams to ensure safe, on-time and commercially successful works.

You will bring a strong background in large-scale civil or energy infrastructure, with experience in live 275kV/400kV environments, NEC contracts, and health and safety

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Site Agent on major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Experience in live 275kV/400kV substation environments.
• Knowledge of National Grid safety rules and assurance frameworks.
• Membership with ICE, CIOB or APM is preferred.
• Temporary Works Coordinator competence and/or Appointed Person capability.
• IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications ideal.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change management.
• SMSTS and CSCS/EUSR management cards expected.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our growing Energy business, supporting the successful delivery of major National Grid transmission and substation projects across the UK. As a Site Agent, you will take ownership of the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of a major section of works, multiple work packages or a principal construction operation within a substation environment. You'll provide visible leadership on site, coordinating engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical energy infrastructure projects that will support the UK's transition to a more sustainable future.

You'll be a proactive and confident construction leader with a strong background in large-scale civil engineering or energy infrastructure projects. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex challenges and can motivate teams to deliver exceptional results.

• A degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Site Agent, Agent or senior delivery professional on major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Experience working within live 275kV or 400kV substation environments.
• Knowledge of National Grid safety rules and assurance frameworks.
• Professional membership with ICE, CIOB or APM.
• Temporary Works Coordinator and/or Appointed Person competence.
• IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change management processes.
• SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS/EUSR management card.
• Excellent planning, programme management and leadership skills.
• The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
