Job summary

Mint Selection Ltd in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee civil engineering works and lead on-site teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

You will interpret drawings, manage subcontractors and drive short-term programmes, ensuring quality and compliance with RAMS and NEC contracts. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills to manage site activities and reporting.

Qualifications

• Heavy civils experience essential.
• Proven track record delivering civil projects as Site Agent.
• Strong leadership of site teams and subcontractors.
• Experience in planning, resource allocation and programme management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and resolve technical issues with the team.
• Good knowledge of health and safety law, RAMS and QA.
• Commercial awareness including cost control; NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors on site.
• Lead Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen to meet delivery targets.
• Develop short-term programmes aligned with the construction schedule.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs and quality requirements.
• Oversee RAMS and safe systems of work; maintain high HSE standards.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve site issues.
• Manage inspections, testing and handover documentation.
• Maintain site records; support forecasting and cost tracking.
• Lead progress meetings and report risks to the programme and delivery.

Role - Site Agent

Location - Aberdeen, Scotland

Mint Selection are seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee the delivery of civil engineering works in Aberdeen, Scotland.

This role would suit someone with a strong heavy civils background, experienced in leading site teams, managing subcontractors and driving construction activities through to completion safely, on programme and within budget.

Scope of Work:

• Manage daily site operations, coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Lead Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen, ensuring clear responsibilities and delivery targets.
• Develop and manage short-term programmes in line with the overall construction schedule.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Oversee RAMS and safe systems of work, maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, resolving site issues and managing competing priorities.
• Manage inspections, testing, quality records and handover documentation.
• Monitor costs, support forecasting and maintain accurate site records.
• Lead progress meetings and report on programme, productivity and delivery risks.

Experience to be considered:

• Heavy civils experience is essential.
• Proven experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects as a Site Agent.
• Strong track record managing site teams and subcontractors.
• Experience in construction planning, resource allocation and programme management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and resolve technical issues alongside the engineering team.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation, RAMS and quality assurance.
• Commercial awareness, including cost control and working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS card and full driving licence.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
