Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a Site Agent for a major civil infrastructure and earthworks contract in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. The role involves leading multi-disciplinary site teams, maintaining programme progress, and delivering quality and safety standards on a large energy infrastructure project.

You will manage budgets, cost forecasts, and subcontractor performance under NEC terms, while coordinating handover documentation and client sign-offs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Site Agent on complex civil engineering packages.
• CSCS Card (Black Manager card preferred).
• SMSTS.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge, cost plans, and forecasting.
• Proven capability to lead multi-disciplinary site teams and sub-contractors.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver management and leadership of multi-disciplinary site teams.
• Manage the section budget, forecast costs, and drive value management.
• Analyse programmes, set target programmes, and attend meetings.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, KPIs, and NEC-based commercial attendances.

Contract type - Freelance / Contract (PAYE)

Location - Peterhead, Aberdeenshire

Rate - £50.00 / hour PAYE

Project - Major Energy Infrastructure & Substation Project (Tier 1 Contractor)

Are you a highly accomplished Site Agent with a track record of successfully delivering multi-disciplinary civil engineering packages on major infrastructure projects? We at Randstad are working with a leading principal contractor delivering a major energy Infrastructure & substation project who is seeking a solid Site Agent to join the team.

As the Site Agent, you will provide end-to-end management, leadership, and operational control over a multi-disciplinary team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers, and Foremen across heavy earthworks, road construction, fencing, and drainage infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering management, leadership, and daily operational control over a section of the works and multi-disciplinary site teams.
• Managing the section budget, producing realistic financial forecasts, cost plans, and driving cost recovery/value management.
• Analysing programmes, setting target programmes, and meetings.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, performance KPIs, and commercial attendances under NEC contract terms.
• Leading incident investigations, assessing improvement options, and keeping the team updated on changes in legislation.
• Holding overall ownership of handover documentation, quality self-certification, and client sign-offs for the section.

The successful candidate will have:

• Extensive experience as a Site Agent managing complex civil engineering packages (bulk earthworks, pavement reconstruction, haul roads, structures, or energy infrastructure).
• CSCS Card (Black Manager card preferred)
• SMSTS.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contract forms, cost plans, and financial forecasting.
• Proven capability to manage and motivate multi-disciplinary site teams and sub-contractors effectively.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental management systems, incident investigation techniques, and safe systems of work.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IHT) or working towards it is desirable.
