Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Band 6 Sister within our established Oncology & Haematology inpatient ward. The role will involve taking charge of the ward on a shift by shift basis, we have a Band 6 Sister on duty on every shift to oversee the care given to this very complex patient group. You will undertake clinical care for the patients on the ward, oversee and support other members of staff on duty and liaise with the clinical teams to ensure all care given is of high quality. You will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and would be expected to have a recognised chemotherapy qualification.
Main duties of the job
Direct clinical care for inpatients within the ward
Administration of chemotherapy
Supervision and oversight for all other clinical staff on duty each shift
Liaising with members of the clinical multi-disciplinary team to provide effective clinical care
