Job description

Job summary

Are you an Endoscopy nurse looking for a new challenge, demonstrating effective and sustainable leadership and management skills?

Can you help us deliver and develop a diverse range of endoscopic therapeutic interventions? If you enjoy sharing your endoscopic knowledge through teaching and developing others, and are an experienced, passionate, dynamic, and forward-thinking individual, we would like to hear from you.

Key responsibilities will be agreed upon with the successful candidate, including supporting and developing the nursing team and multidisciplinary teams in endoscopy.

You will have the opportunity to lead by example and support the safe delivery of individualized care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus using radiofrequency ablation (HALO) and Endo Bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS). We also offer a pleural day service, general anaesthetic sessions, a GI physiology service, and capsule endoscopy.

Our three endoscopy departments have gained JAG accreditation, offering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Main duties of the job
  1. To provide high-quality, effective, individualized care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans independently.
  2. To assist the ward manager in leading the nursing team and deputise in their absence.
  3. To monitor standards of nursing care and take appropriate actions to maintain and improve them.
  4. To respond to concerns from patients, relatives, and carers, and take remedial action as required.
