Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board invites applications for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. You will lead a 21-bed Elective Surgical ward & Enhanced Care Unit, providing patient-centred, evidence-based care and supporting the Senior Sister and multidisciplinary team.

The role requires post-operative care experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and a readiness to innovate within a team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in post-operative care (band 6 role).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaboration mindset.
  • Ability to lead the ward in the absence of the Senior Sister.

Responsibilities

We have new opportunities to work within an established 21-bed Elective Surgical ward & Enhanced Care Unit, for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse.

The successful candidates should be enthusiastic and innovative. They need to be motivated with excellent communication and leadership skills and be able to support the Senior Sister and Multidisciplinary team in providing patient centred, high standards of care, and efficient safe management of patients.

The successful candidate must have experience in post-operative care.

They will need to be confident in leading the team in the absence of the Senior Sister.

Main duties of the job

The applicants should be able to demonstrate the use of evidence-based practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with a readiness to innovate and develop nursing within a team approach.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
