An exciting opportunity has arisen at NHS for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Coronary Care unit, responsible for delivering high standards of individualised care. The successful candidate will have a specific interest in cardiac nursing and will support the Senior Sister in leadership and clinical practices. This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 28/12/25 to cover maternity leave.

A very exciting development opportunity has arisen within Coronary Care unit for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse.
The unit consists of 6 Coronary Care beds, with 7 step down cardiac beds. Coronary Care also receives patients on the Treat and Repatriation pathway from Morriston Hospital.
As part of our friendly, supportive, and professional team you will work closely with other specialities and the MDT team, within the hospital caring for acutely ill patients.
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and patient focused nurse, who has a specific interest in cardiac nursing.
A professional development programme will be developed to ensure the successful candidate gains the necessary education and training required for the role.
The successful post holder will be responsible for delivering a high standard of individualised care for our patients. Applicants will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills.
Evidence of continuing professional development is essential.
You will support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the development of relevant policies, procedures and protocols for their area of responsibility ensuring that they meet national, local and professional criteria, submitting them to the Senior Nurse Manager for agreement prior to submission for ratification.
Combine excellent clinical practice with day to day shift coordination and undertaking leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Continually support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, including deputising/taking charge of the clinical area/team in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Provide supervisory management and leadership skills in a clinical environment which is complex and pressurised.
Provide professional nursing leadership and guidance (in line with NMC standards), clinical advice and undertake management and monitoring activities to ensure the effective delivery of high standards of nursing care at all times
Work alongside the nursing team members, providing support to junior colleagues in the provision of direct care.
Proactively contribute to the implementation of the NMC Standards for education (2018) including the standards for student supervision and assessment.
Provide leadership and role modelling in the development and mentorship of new and other staff.
Demonstrate the Health Board's values in everything that you do in the work environment.

The ability to speak welsh is desirable for this post; English and /or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
