Job summary

Signs Express Taunton is seeking a skilled Signmaker & Installer to join our busy team. You will produce and install signage including vehicle graphics, interior/exterior signs, window graphics, and large-format prints. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Location: Signs Express Taunton, Taunton. Salary is negotiable based on experience. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. A full, clean driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years' industry experience making and installing signage.
• Experience with wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators is essential.
• Proven sign fitting experience including vehicle graphics and panel installation.
• Positive, organized, able to work alone or with a team.
• Good knowledge of design and RIP software.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations are desirable but not essential.
• Clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Interpret briefs accurately with understanding of signage and manufacturing techniques.
• Apply vinyl to substrates including vehicles and window graphics.
• Sign making across substrates such as Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex.
• Install internal and external signage, fascia and post mounted signs.
• Ensure installations are on time and to budget and standard.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

Sign Maker & Installer

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Signmaker & Installer to join our busy team at Signs Express (Taunton). This varied role involves the production and installation of a wide range of signage solutions, including vehicle graphics, interior and exterior signs, window graphics, exhibition displays, and large-format prints. The ideal candidate will have a hands‑on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Location: Signs Express (Taunton), 13A & B Galmington Trading Estate, Cornishway South, Taunton, TA1 5NQ

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Working Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Travel: A full, clean driving licence

Duties Include

• Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
• Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates including vehicles and window graphics.
• Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
• Installing all types of internal and external signage, including fascia and post mounted signs.
• Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
• Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
• Taking responsibility for your own and others’ health and safety when working.
• Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.
• Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.

What We Would Like From You

• A minimum of two years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
• Experience in the use of wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators together with a strong understanding of signage and manufacturing techniques is essential.
• Proven experience in a sign fitting role is absolutely necessary, encompassing vehicle graphics application, panel application, installation and use of relevant software packages.
• You will have a positive, can‑do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
• Good working knowledge of design and RIP software.
• The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
• Clean driving licence.
• Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
• An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
