Job summary

Signs Express (Slough & Reading) is seeking a skilled Sign Maker and Installer to join our team in Slough. This hands-on role covers manufacture, preparation and installation of internal and external signage, with work both in-house and on-site.

You will use wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators, and apply signage techniques across various substrates. A positive, self-motivated attitude and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years' industry experience making and installing signage.
• Experience with wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators and strong understanding of signage manufacturing techniques.
• Proven sign fitting experience including vehicle graphics, panel application and installation.
• Ability to work alone as well as in a team, with good communication and organisation.
• Knowledge of design and RIP software.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations are desirable but not essential.
• Clean driving licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Sign making using substrates (Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl, Foamex) to a high standard.
• Ensure installations are completed on time and to budget.
• Follow company procedures for safe and secure sign fitting.
• Maintain health and safety for yourself and others on site.
• Be proficient with interpreting briefs and applying signage requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service to clients.

From design and manufacture to installation, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service and outstanding results.As we continue to grow our business, we are looking for a skilled Sign Maker and Installer to join our friendly, professional team at Signs Express (Slough & Reading) to help us create and install a wide and exciting range of signage.

The perfect candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, be able to maintain our high standards of workmanship and quality, be self-motivated and be a good role model for the rest of the team. This job would suit someone who likes to see the impact they have on both our company and our client’s business.This is a hands-on, varied role that involves the manufacture, preparation, and installation of internal and external signage. You'll work both in-house and on-site, so a flexible and professional attitude is essential.

Location: Signs Express (Slough), 410 Montrose Ave, Slough SL1 4TJ

Salary: 28-32K Depending on experience

Working Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Duties Include

• Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
• Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
• Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
• Taking responsibility for your own and others’ health and safety when working.
• Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.
• Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.

What we would like from you

• A minimum of two years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
• Experience in the use of wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators together with a strong understanding of signage and manufacturing techniques is essential.
• Proven experience in a sign fitting role is absolutely necessary, encompassing vehicle graphics application, panel application, installation and use of relevant software packages.
• You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
• Good working knowledge of design and RIP software.
• The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
• Clean driving licence.
• Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
• An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
