Job summary

Signs Express (Slough & Reading), part of the UK's leading signage franchise, seeks a skilled Sign Maker and Installer to join our team. You will manufacture and install internal and external signage, applying vinyl and digital print techniques, working both in-house and on-site to deliver high-quality results.

You will handle a range of substrates, ensure installations meet deadlines and budgets, and uphold health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' industry experience in signage manufacturing.
• Experience with wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators.
• Proven sign fitting experience including vehicle graphics.
• Familiarity with design and RIP software.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Manufacture and assemble signage using vinyl application, digital printing, CNC routing and other techniques.
• Install internal and external signage at clients' premises.
• Apply vinyl to substrates including vehicles, vehicle wraps and windows.
• Interpret briefs accurately.
• Sign making with substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex to a high standard.
• Ensure installations are completed on time, to budget and to high standards.
• Follow company procedures to ensure signs are fitted safely and securely.
• Take responsibility for health and safety when working.
• Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are followed.
• Provide outstanding customer service to clients.

Responsibilities and duties

• Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Manufacture and assemble a wide range of signage solutions using vinyl application, digital printing, CNC routing and other techniques.
• Installing all types of internal and external signage, including fascia and post mounted signs at clients' premises.
• Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates including vehicles, vehicle wraps and window graphics.
• Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
• Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
• Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
• Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
• Taking responsibility for your own and others' health and safety when working.
• Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.
• Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.

This is a hands-on, varied role that involves the manufacture, preparation, and installation of internal and external signage. You'll work both in-house and on-site, so a flexible and professional attitude is essential.

• A minimum of two years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
• Experience in the use of wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators together with a strong understanding of signage and manufacturing techniques is essential.
• Proven experience in a sign fitting role is absolutely necessary, encompassing vehicle graphics application, panel application, installation and use of relevant software packages.
• You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
• Good working knowledge of design and RIP software.
• The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
• Clean driving licence.
• Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
• An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
