Job summary

City College Plymouth seeks a dedicated role to support students with Hearing Impairment and SEND in a post-16 environment. You will help students access the curriculum, participate in college life and develop confidence and independence.

You will collaborate with teaching staff and Learning Support, providing effective communication including BSL, with 1:1 support as needed, to enable programme access and inclusion. The role emphasises inclusion and high expectations for all learners.

Qualifications

• Adapt communication and support to meet individual needs of Hearing Impairment and SEND students.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, Learning Support colleagues and other professionals.
• Remain focused and attentive to students' needs in busy post-16 learning environments.
• Demonstrate patience, persistence and determination to help students overcome barriers.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access the curriculum and participate in college life.
• Assist learning and independence development to enhance educational experiences.
• Provide BSL communication support for students as required, one-to-one if needed.
• Work with staff to promote inclusive, high-expectation education.
