Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Design Engineer in Glascoed to support the Engineering – Munitions team. You will prepare models, drawings and Bills of Materials for customised equipment, ensuring compliance with BS 8888, ISO 9001 and GD&T standards.

The role involves liaising with Product, Process and Manufacturing Engineers, supporting both one-off and batch manufacturing, and ensuring designs meet sign-off requirements. The position is full-time on a 12-month contract with hybrid working patterns.

Qualifications

• Previous Drawing Office experience.
• Proficient with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience designing precision equipment, fixtures, jigs and tooling.
• Experience with fabricated components, weld assemblies and sheet metal.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and tolerances.
• Practical understanding of machining and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Create models and drawings for customised equipment.
• Apply BS 8888, ISO 9001, materials and GD&T requirements.
• Liaise with Product, Process and Manufacturing Engineers.
• Support one-off and batch manufacturing processes.
• Ensure designs meet internal engineering and sign-off requirements.
