Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a vigilant security officer for our Harwell site to act as the first point of contact for staff, visitors and contractors, maintaining a professional front-of-house presence.

You will control access, monitor CCTV and alarms, conduct patrols, respond to emergencies, and ensure full compliance with health and safety policies, while upholding company standards and safeguarding people and assets.

Qualifications

• SIA licence valid and in-date.
• Experience in corporate, pharmaceutical, or high-security environments.
• Strong understanding of security operations, procedures, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors, ensuring a professional and secure front-of-house presence.
• Control access and egress to site, verifying identification and ensuring full compliance with security protocols and site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter and detect security risks.
• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and security equipment, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or breaches.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and alarm activations, following escalation procedures when required.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations, ensuring full compliance at all times.
• Carry out searches, inspections, and audits in line with site requirements and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, logs, and shift handovers.
• Support business continuity by working collaboratively with site teams and emergency services when required.
