JOB TITLE: Shuttering Carpenter

INDUSTRY:Building and Construction

START DATE:ASAP

SALARY :£22.00 - £25.00

LOCATION: Taunton

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Measure, cut, and assemble formwork materials (timber, plywood, or metal).
• Install and secure formwork according to specifications.
• Pour, level, and finish concrete within the shuttering moulds.
• Strip formwork after the concrete has set and clean/prepare for reuse.
• Ensure formwork structures are strong, stable, and aligned properly.
• Work closely with other construction professionals, including steel fixers and concrete workers.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a shuttering carpenter or similar role in construction.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools related to carpentry.
• Good physical strength and stamina.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices on construction sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Carpentry or Construction (optional but advantageous).
• Previous work experience on large-scale construction projects.
