Job summary

GXO is recruiting for a Shunter at the Crick site on a full-time, permanent basis. You will move trailers around the yard, position them for loading, and ensure safe, efficient site operations.

The role runs Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 22:00, with a salary of £47,042.99 per year plus benefits including holiday pay, pension, GP service, and access to training through GXO University.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence required.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards.
• No more than six penalty points on your licence; certain endorsements not allowed.
• Terberg vehicle experience desirable, but full training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre trailers and vehicles around the yard using a shunter vehicle.
• Position trailers onto bays for loading and unloading, keeping yard tidy.
• Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks and report defects.
• Collaborate with warehouse, transport and site teams to meet health & safety standards.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Safely manoeuvre trailers and vehicles around the yard, using a shunter vehicle, ensuring smooth and efficient site operations
• Position trailers onto bays in readiness for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organisation at all times
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects, damage, or wear and tear promptly
• Work closely with warehouse, transport, and site teams to ensure health & safety procedures and operational requirements are consistently met

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
• No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, DD, DR, DG, BA, AC, LC or CD endorsements)
• Previous experience operating Terberg vehicle is desirable, but full training can be provided
