Job summary

Pertemps North West and North Wales is recruiting experienced LGV Shunter Drivers to join a busy logistics operation in Runcorn on a temp-to-perm basis. You will move trailers around the yard safely and efficiently.

Shift patterns are 4 on / 4 off, with days and nights. A valid Class 1 LGV licence and prior shunter or LGV/HGV driving experience are essential. Permanent opportunities may arise for reliable performers.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV Driver's Licence - Class 1 is required.
• Experience as a shunter or LGV/HGV driver is essential.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts (4 on / 4 off).

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers and vehicles around the site.
• Position trailers at designated bays and loading areas.
• Carry out vehicle and trailer checks in line with procedures.
• Ensure all trailer movements are completed safely and efficiently.
• Follow site health & safety procedures and yard rules.
• Communicate with warehouse, transport and yard teams.
• Report any defects immediately.
• Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
• Assist with general yard duties and maintain high safety standards.

Salary - Days: £37,918.30 per annum

Salary - Nights: £37,918.35 + £3,060.40 night shift premium

Licence Required: LGV Driver's Licence - Class 1

About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for experienced LGV Shunter Drivers to join a busy logistics operation in Runcorn on a temp-to-perm basis.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the site, ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and operational requirements are met. This is a key role within the yard operation, working closely with the warehouse and transport teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers and vehicles around the site.
• Position trailers correctly at designated bays and loading areas.
• Carry out vehicle and trailer checks in line with company procedures.
• Ensure all trailer movements are completed safely and efficiently.
• Follow all site health & safety procedures and yard rules.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse, transport and yard teams.
• Report any vehicle, trailer or equipment defects immediately.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Assist with general yard duties as required.
• Maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

Essential:

• Valid LGV Driver's Licence - Class 1.
• Previous experience as a shunter or LGV/HGV driver.
• Good understanding of yard and vehicle safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused.
• Comfortable working a rotating 4 on / 4 off day and night shift pattern
