Job summary

Quest Employment are recruiting! Derby site seeks experienced Yard Shunters to join a busy logistics operation. Youll safely move trailers around the yard and position them for loading and unloading.

This role offers day, PM and night shifts with weekly pay and a temp-to-perm opportunity. Successful candidates will complete two weeks of training at an alternative warehouse location before transferring to the main site.

Responsibilities

• Safely moving trailers between designated yard locations and loading bays.
• Positioning trailers accurately for loading and unloading operations.
• Carrying out routine vehicle and equipment safety checks.
• Monitoring trailer movements and maintaining an organized yard.
• Communicating effectively with warehouse and transport teams.
• Reporting defects, hazards, or operational issues promptly.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the yard.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and site regulations at all times.

Shifts available: Sunday to Thursday, Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday

Hours: 6:00am – 2:00pm | 2:00pm – 10:00pm | 10:00pm – 6:00am

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous yard, logistics or transport experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in keeping the site running efficiently by safely moving trailers around the yard and ensuring they are positioned for loading and unloading.

The Role

As a Yard Shunter, your responsibilities will include:

Pay & Benefits

• Day Shift: £15.04 per hour
• PM Shift: £15.04 per hour (2:00pm – 8:00pm) and £18.20 per hour (8:00pm – 10:00pm)

Training

Successful candidates will complete their first two weeks of training at an alternative warehouse location before transferring to the main site in Derby.
