Job summary

Pertemps Bond in Ashford is seeking a Class 1 Shunter Driver for our client site. You will shunt trailers in and out of bays, move wagons around the yard and ensure safe and legal operation at all times.

The role requires 1 year C+E experience, a Digi card, CPC and a clean driving record (no more than 6 points). Prior shunting experience is essential and you will work 4 on, 4 off, 0600–1800.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year C+E experience.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Digi card and CPC required.
• Previous shunting experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers in and out of bays and move trailers around the yard.
• Ensure safe and legal operation of the vehicle at all times.
• Take keys from vehicles and complete paperwork for trailer moves to protect against false claims.

Job description

We are Looking for a Class 1 Shunter Driver for our clients site in Ashford.

Your role as a Class 1 shunter driver will include: The work will involve shunting trailers in and out of bays, moving trailers around the yard ensuring the safe and legal operation of your vehicle at all times. Escort drivers initially to the waiting area. You will be required to take keys from the vehicles to the bays and complete paperwork for any trailer moves to ensure any damage is reported prior to moves to protect against false claims.

As an HGV Class 1 shunter driver, you will have:

• 1 year C+E experience is a must
• No more than 6 points
• Digi card and CPC
• Previous experience of shunting is essential

Essential Information:

• PAYE rate ph - up to £18.54
• Working Hours - 0600-1800
• Working Days - 4 on 4 off
