Job summary

Fairfax Meadow at Derby is seeking a Yard Shunter to support the daily loading operations. You will manage a small fleet of 7 artics and trailers and 5 rigids, working closely with the warehouse team to maintain efficiency and on-time loading.

The role requires Class 1 driving with CPC cards, a strong commitment to health and safety, and a team-focused approach to achieve high standards of quality and service.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving experience with CPC credentials.
• Experience using pump trucks / MHE.
• Team player with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Strong health & safety and food hygiene awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loading operations and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage a small fleet of 7 artics/trailers and 5 rigids and coordinate with the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold high health and safety standards.
• Work with Transport Manager to keep daily operations efficient.

Yard Shunter

Salary: Up to £40,482 per annum (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 12 noon to 22:00, Sunday - Thursday

A satisfying role

Reporting to the Transport Manager this role is key to efficient operation of the daily loading process. Working at the heart of our business, you will be responsible for ensuring our operation runs as efficiently and timely as possible and managing a small fleet of 7 artics and trailers and 5 rigids working closely with the warehouse team.

You will need to maintain food hygiene standards, minimise any damages and meet the highest standards of health and safety. Keeping accurate records and resolving on-site issues. You’ll enjoy a varied role and all the support and training you need.

What you bring to the mix

A friendly, focussed and physically fit person, with an eye for detail, you have everything it takes to succeed with Fairfax Meadow:

Experience as a Class 1 driver with valid CPC cards.

A passion for providing the highest operational standards.

A love of working in a team.

Experience of using MHE such as pump trucks.
