Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a blasting professional to join the Surface Mining team at the St Ives Gold Mine in Western Australia. You will provide quality and timely blasting services as part of our owner-operated operation, focusing on safety, QA, and regulatory compliance while supporting production goals.

This permanent role offers a 6% site allowance, health insurance allowance, quarterly bonuses, a minimum of five weeks annual leave, and relocation assistance for eligible candidates relocating

Qualifications

• Experience in surface mining operations in a similar position.
• Current manual driver’s license required.
• Dangerous Goods Security Card and WA Shot Firer’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Handle and use explosives safely and in compliance with legislation, maintaining storage areas and conducting QA audits.
• Identify and report hazards, supporting a zero-harm safety culture and ensuring environmental compliance.
• Work collaboratively with the mining team to achieve production goals efficiently and safely.

• FIFO from Perth or live locally in Kalgoorlie or Kambalda
• Play a key role in delivering, high-quality blasting operations at a leading gold mine

The Opportunity:

In the role, you will provide quality and timely blasting services as part of our Surface Mining team at our owner-operated St Ives Gold Mine.

Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles. Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Eligibility and final terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.
