Position Summary

Constructors Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to maintain equipment and vehicle operation through inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and record-keeping.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Conduct inspections and diagnostics to determine vehicle condition and identify worn or damaged parts.
  2. Ensure equipment availability by completing maintenance schedules, installing upgrades, and controlling corrosion.
  3. Perform work according to schedules, policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  4. Repair vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, disassembling, and replacing major components and systems.
  5. Perform alignments on various vehicle parts and systems.
  6. Verify vehicle performance through test drives and system adjustments.
  7. Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle requirements through testing.
  8. Maintain vehicle appearance through cleaning, washing, and painting.
  9. Keep accurate records of services and repairs.
  10. Maintain shop equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns.
  11. Shop tools are provided; employee must have a full general toolbox and some special tools.
  12. Update job knowledge through training, reading technical journals, and regulations.
  13. Contribute to the maintenance department's reputation by ownership and exploring new opportunities.
  14. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the shop area.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements and Education
  • Vocational/technical diploma and 4 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic in fleet maintenance and repair, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required; Class C license for occasional non-commercial driving; must be insurable.

Working Conditions

Employees may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift up to 35 pounds and perform tasks requiring reaching and lifting over the head. Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and loud noise. The facility is tobacco-free.
