Job summary

Bayne's the Family Bakers in Kirkintilloch is seeking a Shop Manager with proven supervisory experience in retail or customer facing environments. You will oversee daily shop operations, schedule colleagues, and ensure high standards of service.

The role involves hands-on shop duties, training new staff during a 12-week probation, health and safety compliance, stock control, cash handling, and maintaining shop presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience in a supervisory role, particularly within the food to go industry.
• Confident and enthusiastic attitude.
• Experience delivering on KPIs and profitability.
• Experience managing stock.
• Flexibility to work between Monday and Sunday, any 5 days from 7.

Responsibilities

• Lead to maintain high standards of behaviour and customer and colleague interactions.
• Schedule colleagues for efficient Shop trading.
• Conduct 12-week probation reviews for new employees and ongoing performance reviews as required.
• Ensure staff are aware of and deliver on legal responsibilities.
• Ensure health & safety of colleagues per policy and legislation.
• Maintain shop property, equipment, fixtures and fittings; report defects.
• Follow company cash and security regulations.
• Comply with all legal requirements.
• Ensure only quality products are displayed.
• Maintain stock rotation procedures.
• Keep Area Manager updated on business developments.
• Encourage colleagues to share ideas to improve the business.
• Manage colleagues in a fast-paced, customer service environment.
• Remain hands-on with serving, bake-off, making rolls, and hot drinks.

Job description

Shop Manager, Kirkintilloch

To be considered for this position you will have experience in a management or supervisory role within a retail or a customer facing environment. And have access to your own vehicle as travel to other shops will be required.

You will be given various shifts - which will change week to week and will include weekends (when rostered on) between 530am and 430pm - any 5 days from 7.

39 hours per week (although additional hours may be available).

£14.58per hourplus an excellent benefits package (see below)

We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouthwatering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops.

What your key responsibilities are:

• Lead strongly to maintain high standards of behaviour and customer and colleague interactions.
• Take responsibility for the scheduling of colleagues for efficient Shop trading.
• Conduct relevant reviews on all new employees within 12-week probation period and appropriate reviews as required in your Shop.
• Ensure that all staff are fully aware and deliver on their legal responsibilities.
• Take responsibility for health & safety of colleagues according to company policy and legislation.
• Maintain excellent standards in Shop property, equipment, fixtures, and fittings. Report any issues or defects.
• Ensure that company cash and security regulations are followed.
• Ensure that all legal requirements are followed.
• Ensure only quality product is displayed.
• Maintain stock rotation procedures.
• Keep Area Manager updated promptly on any business developments.
• Encourage all colleagues to voice and forward ideas to better our business.
• Managing colleagues in a fast paced, customer service environment.
• Remaining "hands-on" serving, bake off, making filled rolls, hot drinks etc.

What your key skills and experiences are:

• Previous retail experience in a supervisory role, particularly within the food to go industry.
• Confident and enthusiastic
• Experience of delivering on KPI's and profitability.
• Experience of managing stock.
• You will be required to be flexible with your hours, you will need to be available to work between Monday to Sunday any 5 days from 7.
