Job summary

Peaple Talent in Colchester is helping a leading engineering manufacturer recruit a hands-on Production Engineer to support shop-floor operations and drive continuous improvement.

In this role you will work with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering to improve safety, quality, productivity and efficiency, lead Lean initiatives and document manufacturing processes and work instructions.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Production/Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong CAD experience using Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experience improving manufacturing processes and supporting production.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support to production.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing and process issues.
• Improve and standardise manufacturing processes.
• Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement activities.
• Reduce waste, downtime, scrap and rework.
• Support new equipment, tooling and automation projects.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
