Job summary

Public House Group is opening a new general store in Charlbury and seeks a Shop Assistant to join the team. You will help run the shop daily, deliver friendly service and accurate information to guests, and support opening and closing procedures.

The role offers an opportunity to grow with a developing brand and gain hands-on experience in retail hospitality. You should bring a positive, proactive attitude, strong communication, and a real interest in creating a welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or hospitality experience preferred.
• Friendly, proactive and reliable.
• Ability to work weekends.

What you'll be doing as a Shop Assistant:

• Supporting the Shop Management in the daily operation of the shop.
• Maintaining a positive workplace and delivering exceptional and consistent levels of service and communication.
• Appropriate food handling and responsible service of alcohol as well as emergency procedures.
• Conduct opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness at all times.
• Knowing the shop product and being able to make recommendations.
