Public House Group is creating a new general store in Charlbury and is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to help launch ahead of the opening later this year.

In this role you'll support the Shop Manager, lead the team when needed, assist with recruitment, inductions, training and rotas, and oversee stock control, reporting and safety procedures to ensure we deliver great service from day one.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in retail, ideally food & beverage.
• Experience leading busy teams and creating a positive working environment.
• Excellent communication skills and reliability.

Responsabilités

• Support the Shop Manager in running the shop day to day, stepping up to lead the team in their absence.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the shop team, creating a positive and supportive place to work.
• Assist with recruitment, inductions, training and rotas to ensure the team can deliver great service.
• Run opening and closing procedures, ensuring the shop is ready to trade.
• Assist with weekly and month-end reporting, stock deliveries and wastage records.
• Keep the shop safe, clean and compliant with food hygiene, health & safety, fire safety and licensing.

What you'll be doing as an Assistant Shop Manager:

• Keep the shop safe, clean and compliant, including food hygiene, health and safety, fire safety and licensing requirements.

About you, our new Assistant Shop Manager:

• Previous supervisory experience in retail, ideally within food and beverage.
• Experience leading busy teams and creating a positive working environment.
• A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Strong attention to detail, with confidence managing day-to-day finances and reporting.
• Highly organised, able to plan your own week and your team's, and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, and honest, reliable and willing to go above and beyond.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
