Job summary

BAE Systems in Glasgow is seeking experienced Welders for a 12-month contract to support the Type 26 naval frigate program. You will work across shop and ship environments, welding carbon steel and aluminium and using automated equipment.

The role requires SVQ Level 3 or equivalent with a modern apprenticeship, and adherence to SHE processes, including ventilation, PPE and RPE. Pay is PAYE, with local Glasgow rates and overtime options.

Qualifications

• SVQ level 3 or equivalent and a modern apprenticeship.
• Experience welding different materials including carbon steel and aluminium.
• Familiar with SHE Processes and policies including extraction/ventilation and PPE/RPE.

Responsibilities

• Welds across shop and ship environments, assisting in ship construction.
• Welds different materials from carbon steel to aluminium in various positions.
• Operates automated/mechanised welding equipment where appropriate.
• Adheres to SHE processes, ventilation, PPE, and RPE requirements.
