Job summary

V.Group is seeking an experienced Machinist to join Marella Cruises aboard shipboard in the Engine department on a contract basis (9 months +/- 1). The role requires STCW 95 and ASE A-III/5 compliance, with extensive experience in diesel engines, lathe operation and welding.

You will work under the Staff Engineer and Duty Engineer, performing routine checks and maintenance. Candidates must be physically fit, fluent in English, and able to work in confined spaces and challenging shipboard

Qualifications

• Certificate-based qualifications required for shipboard machinist role.
• Experience operating and maintaining vessel machinery is essential.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Stands engine watch as instructed by Staff Engineer.
• Maintain and repair Diesel Generators and Main Engines.
• Inspect and maintain engine room in accordance with procedures.
• Assist with general engine room duties including cleaning, painting and repairs.
