Job summary

Marella Cruises is seeking an experienced Engine Mechanic to join our cruise vessels. The role involves standing watch in the engine room, assisting with routine maintenance, and supporting the Staff Engineer with daily operations on Marella Discovery 2.

A strong background in diesel engines, lathe operation, and welding is essential. Candidates must possess STCW 95 certification and ASE A-III/5, demonstrate physical fitness, and be able to work in a shipboard environment with strict safety

Qualifications

• Must have STCW 95 certification and ASE A-III/5.
• Good knowledge of mechanics and vessel machinery operation.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent position is required.

Responsibilities

• Stand engine watch as instructed by the Staff Engineer.
• Inspect machinery spaces and report deficiencies to the on-duty engineer.
• Maintain diesel generators, main engines, fuel systems and lubrication systems.
• Assist with maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and pollution prevention regulations.
