Job summary

Balearia seeks a Chief Officer to join one of its HSC RoRo passenger ferries aboard ship. The role is contract-based with ASAP embarkation and a 2 months on / 2 months off rotation. You will report to the Master and oversee deck operations and safety across a diverse crew.

Responsibilities include maintaining vessel safety, environmental compliance, and team leadership, with emphasis on drills, procedures and regulatory adherence. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Valid CoC A-II/2 and STCW95 certificates.
• Extensive experience as Staff Captain is essential.
• Fluent English; good command of English on board.

Responsibilities

• 2nd in command responsible for maintenance, safety, and environmental protection.
• Oversee deck department operations, schedules, and training.
• Lead safety drills and enforce ISPS/SOLAS compliance.
• Monitor budgets and inventory for the Deck department.
