We are working on behalf of a prestigious US law firm in London that is looking to recruit a Ship Finance Associate (2–4 PQE) to join their renowned asset finance team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work at a globally recognised firm known for its high-calibre work and strong international presence. The London office serves as a key hub for the firm’s cross-border finance practice, providing top-tier advice on some of the most sophisticated transactions in the market.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be primarily focused on ship finance matters, advising lenders, borrowers, owners, operators, and lessors on complex transactions. In addition to maritime finance, the role will also include aviation finance work, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience within asset finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advising on all aspects of ship finance including bilateral and syndicated loan transactions, sale and leasebacks, and ECA-backed financings
• Drafting and negotiating key finance and security documentation
• Advising clients on regulatory issues and enforcement matters
• Supporting aviation finance transactions as required
• Collaborating with partners and colleagues across the firm’s global offices

Requirements:

• 2–4 years’ post-qualification experience from a recognised law firm with strong exposure to ship finance
• Aviation finance experience is advantageous but not essential
• Strong academic background
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• A commercially minded, team-oriented individual with a genuine interest in asset finance
