Job summary

Unify is offering an entry-level Shift Technician role at a modern power generation facility in Bedford. The position includes full training, no prior power plant experience required, and a clear path to technician progression.

You will learn to operate and monitor plant systems via DCS/SCADA, perform routine inspections, respond to alarms, and assist with maintenance while prioritising safety and procedures. Shift-based work with overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• No prior power plant experience required; full training provided.
• Entry-level role with potential to progress into technician roles.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Basic mechanical or electrical understanding desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and monitor plant systems using DCS/SCADA
• Support safe and efficient plant operation following procedures
• Carry out routine plant inspections, checks, and readings
• Respond to alarms and assist with fault finding and troubleshooting
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and basic repairs
• Develop skills to progress into a fully competent technician
